Can I buy raw rattan cane instead of furniture?

No, and neither can anyone else. Indonesia has banned the export of raw and semi-finished rattan since 2011. The cane cannot leave the country, which is exactly why the furniture is made here.

What is the real minimum order?

It is set by the container rather than by a fixed piece count: a load is viable once it cubes out. Send the families and the destination and the desk will tell you what a workable first load looks like for your mix.

Natural or synthetic rattan for outdoor use?

Synthetic HDPE on powder-coated aluminium, every time. Natural core and peel degrade under UV and moisture, and we will not spec them for uncovered outdoor use. Natural rattan is the right call for indoor hospitality and retail.

How does OEM sampling work?

Send a drawing or a reference photo. We return a spec and a quote, then build a counter-sample. Production starts only after you approve it, and QC checks every piece against that sample.

Can I mix different products in one container?

Yes, and it is our standard order shape. Combine dining, lounge, daybeds, baskets and decor across natural and HDPE lines. We plan the cube-out so you reach usable volume without dead space.

Which documents and ports do you ship with?

Orders load FOB Semarang or Surabaya with commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin and ISPM-15 fumigation certificate. Timber-framed goods carry SVLK documentation, mandatory for Indonesian wood-furniture exports since 1 January 2015.

Why the weave lives here

Indonesia banned the export of raw rattan in 2011. The cane cannot leave, so the furniture has to be built here.

Raw and semi-finished rattan may not be exported. Only finished goods clear customs.
The workshop cluster

Cirebon-trained weaving skill concentrated across Java and Bali. The deepest rattan labour pool there is.
What it means for buyers

If you want real rattan furniture at scale, you source finished pieces from Indonesia. There is no other route.

Poles and core sorted by gauge and colour. HDPE profiles drawn from UV-stabilised stock.

Frame bending and joinery

Kiln-dried teak, mahogany or mindi, welded aluminium, or steamed rattan pole, built to your drawing.

Hand-weaving

Open, close or French weave laid strand by strand by Cirebon-trained weavers.

Finishing and QC

Stain, lacquer or powder-coat, then every piece checked against the approved sample before wrapping.

Fumigation and loading

ISPM-15 fumigation, then cube-out at FOB Semarang or Surabaya with the full document set.
